A trip to Rajasthan in 2009 caused a deep impression on both my spirit and my work. I had the opportunity to do some painting during my stay in Udaipur before traveling 2,500 kilometres by road, stopping off at several cities, visiting temples and villages and temples being constantly inspired by my perceptions of landscapes and people. The last stop, Varanasi, was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life, which I depicted in the painting Lyspassion II. Manikarnika Gaht. Sankt Hans Dag. Varanasi, 2009.<\/a><\/p>\n

I believe that the European dimension can easily be perceived in these works. It is clear to me that the Indian scenes emphasize the fact that it is a European mind that is approaching the reality of India, like an introspective mirror.<\/p>\n

Any type of perception of the outside world, within the limits of our bodies, is always mixed with a reality established in our \u201cinterior\u201d.<\/p>\n

At the same time, our perception (or at least mine) is not only related to our inner and outer limits. Our attention slides imperceptibly from our interior to our exterior, or from our exterior to our inner self.<\/p>\n
