Last Saturday, the National Museum of History Frederiksborg opened the exhibition “IMAGES OF A QUEEN”. It is an impressive achievement in less than 12 full working days after HM Queen Margrethe’s surprising, clever and emotional New Year’s speech to present a beautiful, coherent and concentrated brand-new exhibition of the museum’s own works that portray the Queen.
I am honored and happy to be part of this very special homage, where approx. 40 paintings, photographs, drawings, busts, etc. constitute the entire exhibition. My unfinished painting of H.M. Queen Margrethe “Face study V with Henri Matisse: Petit danseur sur fond rouge (1937-1938)” from 2015, is very nicely placed and well described.
The painting is one of a long series of drawings and painted studies I made for the portrait “Allegory over creation: Decoupage and portrait painting” from 2016.
I wish everyone a good experience when visiting the exhibition!
